One of the greatest rewards in life is helping another person. As I began to grow as a person and sought to develop my business; I learned how important it is to be involved in community. For me it was serving on the board of a gospel radio station, mentoring youth at the local Job Corps center, hosting family fun days in the park and being available when called on by various organizations to donate my time or the company’s services.
I give every individual and business owner this piece of advice – help someone else, mentor children and other adults, promote cultural awareness, speak and connect with those who seek you out. My fear is that as a nation we are losing that bridge that connects one generation to another, that bridge that connects one person in a key position to another. There was a time when communities took care of themselves in every regard and thus they were stronger for it.
Make a commit to volunteer your time. You will be amazed at how much you will actually learn and you will be forever changed by what sowing into another brings to your life. Volunteering also helps you to network and connect to diverse professions and understandings. Tax Drz.com does not shy away from being community involved. We are connected to the communities where our offices are located. We are there and actively involved because that community is part of who we are. So we will continue to donate school supplies, to hand out bags of ice and bottles of water after hurricanes, to support youth football leagues, and to do whatever we can to help victims of natural disasters globally. It is important that you do not hoard what you have. Giving and being involved in your community gives your business and your life heart.
